Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) and the visiting Salina Central Mustangs (Salina, KS), saw Derby's basketball squad overcome Salina Central by a tally of 60-45.

With the victory, Derby improves its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host South (Salina, KS) to confront the Cougars in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 1-13. South lost 66-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS)

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Andover Central Jaguars (Andover, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail II challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Salina Central will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 59-46 league win over Eisenhower (Goddard, KS).
