Elk River Elks (Elk River, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. Michael-Albertville Knights (Albertville, MN), 69-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Elk River upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Elks host Spring Lake Park (Spring Lake Park, MN) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 5-12. Spring Lake Park lost 88-69 in their recent league bout against Park Center (Brooklyn Park, MN)

Next up, the Knights play the Wayzata Trojans (Plymouth, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. St. Michael-Albertville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 77-49 non-league win over Buffalo (Buffalo, MN).
