Virginia High School Basketball - Indian River thwarts Western Branch

The Indian River Braves (Chesapeake, VA) basketball knocked off the host Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), 67-58 in Friday's league test.
The Braves (7-9) will now prepare for their test against Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA). The Wildcats go into the Southeastern test with a 11-7 record. In their last test, Great Bridge went down by Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA), 58-57, in a league test.
The Bruins now own a 10-7 record. They play next when they travel to Peninsula Catholic for a non-league test on Saturday, February 4. Western Branch will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 87-51 non-league win over TEACH (Virginia Beach, VA). The Knights record now stands at 22-5.
