In Friday's non-league outing, the West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) basketball squad felled the host L'Anse Purple Hornets (L'Anse, MI), by a margin of 53-42.
The Wykons (9-6) will now prepare for their outing against Hancock (Hancock, MI). The Bulldogs go into the Western Peninsula outing with a 13-1 record. In their last outing, Hancock thwarted Gwinn (Gwinn, MI), 47-27, in a non-league outing.
The Purple Hornets now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they host Ontonagon for a non-league outing on Monday, February 6. L'Anse will encounter a Gladiators squad coming off a 60-21 non-league win over Johnston (Bessemer, MI). The Gladiators record now stands at 10-6.
