Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Essex Hornets (Essex Junction, VT) and the host Burr & Burton Bulldogs (Manchester, VT), saw Essex's basketball squad knock off Burr & Burton by a count of 49-35.

With the victory, Essex upgrades its record to 3-14 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to South Burlington (South Burlington, VT) to play the Wolves in a Metro challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Wolves come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. South Burlington lost 57-49 in their recent league challenge against Mt. Mansfield (Jericho, VT)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Otter Valley Otters (Brandon, VT) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 5. Burr & Burton will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Otters come into the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 69-34 non-league win over Bellows Falls (Bellows Falls, VT).
