Lake Zurich Bears (Lake Zurich, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Elk Grove Grenadiers (Elk Grove Village, IL), 61-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lake Zurich upgrades its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Bears host Mundelein (Mundelein, IL) to play the Mustangs in a North Suburban bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 9-18. Mundelein won 65-58 in their recent league bout against Libertyville (Libertyville, IL)

Next up, the Grenadiers play the Highland Park Giants (Highland Park, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Elk Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 3-21 season record. The Giants come into the bout with a 11-15 record after their 49-31 non-league loss to Palatine (Palatine, IL).
