In Saturday's non-league outing, the Lake Taylor Titans (Norfolk, VA) basketball squad nipped the host Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA), by a margin of 71-66.

The Titans (18-1) will now prepare for their outing against Manor (Portsmouth, VA). The Mustangs enter the Eastern match with a 6-15 record. In their last match, Manor was nipped by Maury (Norfolk, VA), 49-34, in a league match.

With the defeat, Menchville moves to 10-8 on the year. The Monarchs travel to Hampton (Hampton, VA) to meet the Crabbers in a Peninsula match on Tuesday, February 6. The Crabbers enter the match with a record of 16-2. Hampton won 57-54 in their recent non-league match against King's Fork (Suffolk, VA)
