The Monterey Trail Mustangs basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Weston Ranch Cougars to 52 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now sport a 11-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Laguna Creek for a contest on Monday, February 5. Monterey Trail will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 55-49 league win over River City (West Sacramento, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 14-1.

The Cougars (2-13) will now prepare for their contest against Franklin (Stockton, CA). The Yellowjackets enter the contest with a 4-21 record. In their last contest, Franklin was defeated by Bear Creek (Stockton, CA), 70-39, in a league contest.
