The Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) basketball nipped the visiting Fort Frye Cadets (Beverly, OH), 37-33 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Purple Riders (16-4) will now prepare for their test against Monroe Central (Woodsfield, OH). The Seminoles go into the non-league test with a 16-5 record. In their last test, Monroe Central was tipped by River (Hannibal, OH), 55-41, in a league test.
The Cadets now own a 16-5 record. They play next when they host Waterford for a non-league test on Saturday, February 10.
