Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Nazareth Academy edges Gwynedd Mercy Academy

The Nazareth Academy (Philadelphia, PA) basketball nipped the host Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs (Gwynedd Valley, PA), 45-43 in Saturday's non-league test.
The (10-7) will now prepare for their test against Cardinal O'Hara (Springfield, PA). The Lions go into the Philadelphia Catholic test with a 17-2 record. In their last test, Cardinal O'Hara got by Lansdale Catholic (Lansdale, PA), 51-35, in a league test.
The Monarchs now own a 17-4 record. They play next when they travel to Merion Mercy Academy for a Catholic Academies test on Monday, February 5. Gwynedd Mercy Academy will encounter a Golden Bears squad coming off a 88-19 league loss to Villa Maria Academy (Malvern, PA). The Golden Bears record now stands at 3-15.
