Nelson County Cardinals (Bardstown, KY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Marion County Knights (Lebanon, KY), 49-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Nelson County upgrades its record to 8-15 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to South Oldham (Crestwood, KY) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Dragons come into the bout with a record of 18-4. South Oldham won 77-47 in their recent non-league bout against Paul Laurence Dunbar (Lexington, KY)

Next up, the Knights play the Spencer County Bears (Taylorsville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Marion County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 15-8 record after their 43-16 league win over Collins (Shelbyville, KY).
