The Monterey Trail Mustangs basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Weston Ranch Cougars to 50 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now sport a 14-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Laguna Creek for a contest on Monday, February 5. Monterey Trail will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 60-56 league win over River City (West Sacramento, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 10-15.

The Cougars (12-12) will now prepare for their contest against Franklin (Stockton, CA). The Yellowjackets enter the contest with a 1-22 record. In their last contest, Franklin was defeated by Bear Creek (Stockton, CA), 66-30, in a league contest.
