In Monday's league contest, the visiting Rye Thunderbolts basketball team scored a big 67-32 triumph over the Ellicott Thunderhawks.

The Thunderbolts (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against La Junta (La Junta, CO). The Tigers go into the 4A/3A Tri-Peaks contest with a 3-11 record. In their last contest, La Junta was trounced by Manitou Springs (Manitou Springs, CO), 58-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Thunderhawks battle the Buena Vista Demons (Buena Vista, CO) in a 4A/3A Tri-Peaks contest, on Friday, February 7. Ellicott will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record. The Demons go into the contest with a 9-4 record after their 59-54 non-league win over Lake County (Leadville, CO).
