Salida Spartans (Salida, CO) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host The Vanguard School Coursers (Colorado Springs, CO), 65-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Salida upgrades its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Spartans host Ellicott (Calhan, CO) to play the Thunderhawks in a 3A Tri-Peaks bout on Monday, February 7. The Thunderhawks come into the bout with a record of 5-8. Ellicott won 50-42 in their recent non-league bout against Calhan (Calhan, CO)

Next up, the Coursers play the Mitchell Marauders (Colorado Springs, CO) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 5. The Vanguard School will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Marauders come into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 72-65 league loss to Falcon (Falcon, CO).
