Ohio High School Basketball - Chaney can't hold off Mentor

The Chaney Cowboys basketball team (Youngstown, OH), was nudged 69-65 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Mentor Cardinals (Mentor, OH)

The Cardinals now possess a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brunswick for a Greater Cleveland battle on Tuesday, February 7. Mentor will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 70-55 non-league win over Avon (Avon, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 13-4.

The Cowboys (10-8) will now prepare for their battle against Grand River Academy (Austinburg, OH). The come into the non-league battle with a 4-8 record. In their last battle, Grand River Academy was nudged by Lake Ridge Academy (North Ridgeville, OH), 83-80, in a league battle.
