David Crockett Pioneers (Jonesborough, TN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hancock County Indians (Sneedville, TN), 81-61 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, David Crockett upgrades its record to 8-12 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN) to play the Indians in a 4A District 1 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 16-9. Dobyns-Bennett won 72-38 in their recent league bout against Science Hill (Johnson City, TN)

Next up, the Indians play the Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Hancock County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-18 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 66-37 league win over Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN).
