Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA), 56-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Western Albemarle upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Warriors host Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA) to play the Flying Flucos in a Jefferson bout on Monday, February 6. The Flying Flucos go into the bout with a record of 15-5. Fluvanna County won 72-52 in their recent league bout against Louisa County (Mineral, VA)

Next up, the Colonels play the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) in a Blue Ridge bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Fleming will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Terriers go into the bout with a 10-11 record after their 57-40 non-league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
