Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers (Greenfield, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 60-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Greenfield/Northwestern upgrades its record to 16-10 on the season. The Tigers host Tri-City (Buffalo, IL) to play the Tornadoes in a non-league bout on Monday, February 6. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 6-20. Tri-City lost 62-23 in their recent league challenge against South County (Franklin, IL)

Next up, the Piasa Birds confront the Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Southwestern will attempt to improve on its 14-13 season record. The Vandals come into the challenge with a 13-13 record after their 62-59 league loss to North Mac (Virden, IL).
