Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Freedom Area can't hold off Laurel

The Freedom Area Bulldogs basketball team (Freedom, PA), was nudged 50-46 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA)
The Spartan now possess a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Riverside for a WPIAL 3A 1 battle on Monday, February 6. Laurel will battle a Panthers team coming off a 65-32 league loss to Neshannock (New Castle, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 4-13.
The Bulldogs (14-4) will now prepare for their battle against Aliquippa (Aliquippa, PA). The Quips come into the WPIAL 2A 1 battle with a 10-5 record. In their last battle, Aliquippa edged Rochester (Rochester, PA), 59-22, in a league battle.
