The Simon Kenton Pioneers (Independence, KY) basketball nipped the visiting Spencer County Bears (Taylorsville, KY), 47-44 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Pioneers (13-11) will now prepare for their test against Campbell County (Alexandria, KY). The Camels go into the non-league test with a 7-13 record. In their last test, Campbell County got by Beechwood (Fort Mitchell, KY), 62-42, in a non-league test.
The Bears now own a 19-5 record. They play next when they host Oldham County for a non-league test on Wednesday, February 8. Spencer County will encounter a Colonels squad coming off a 57-41 non-league win over Collins (Shelbyville, KY). The Colonels record now stands at 10-11.
