The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, SD) and the visiting Gregory Gorillas (Gregory, SD), observed Mt. Vernon's basketball team overwhelm Gregory by a score of 55-27.
The Mustangs (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hanson (Alexandria, SD). The Beavers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Hanson trounced Scotland/Menno (Menno, SD), 42-30, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Gorillas encounter the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans (Mt. Vernon, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Gregory will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record.
