Quaker Valley Quakers (Leetsdale, PA) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Rochester Rams (Rochester, PA), 59-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Quaker Valley upgrades its record to 13-5 on the season. The Quakers host South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA) to clash with the Gladiators in a WPIAL 4A 4 contest on Tuesday, February 7. The Gladiators enter the contest with a record of 16-3. South Allegheny lost 56-55 in their recent non-league contest against Laurel Highlands (Uniontown, PA)

The Rams (8-11) will now prepare for their contest against Union Area (New Castle, PA). The Scotties enter the WPIAL 1A 1 contest with a 18-1 record. In their last contest, Union Area ran past Western Beaver (Industry, PA), 89-39, in a league contest.
