Chester Volcanoes (Chester, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Westwood Lumberjacks (Westwood, CA), 56-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Chester upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Volcanoes travel to Quincy (Quincy, CA) to play the Trojans in a Five Star bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 8-16. Quincy lost 43-40 in their recent league bout against Redding Christian (Palo Cedro, CA)

Next up, the Lumberjacks play the Plumas Charter Warriors (Quincy, CA) in a Pioneer bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Westwood will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 10-11 record after their 66-43 league win over Herlong (Herlong, CA).
