The De Smet Jesuit Spartans (St. Louis, MO) basketball nipped the host Helias Crusaders (Jefferson City, MO), 55-52 in Monday's non-league test.

The Spartans (18-4) will now prepare for their test against Vianney (Kirkwood, MO). The Golden Griffins go into the Metro Catholic test with a 17-4 record.

The Crusaders now own a 15-5 record. They play next when they travel to Battle for a non-league test on Friday, February 9. Helias will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 81-56 league win over Capital City (Jefferson City, MO). The Spartans record now stands at 17-4.
