Hammond Tornadoes (Hammond, LA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Jefferson RISE Charter (Harvey, LA), 83-69 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hammond upgrades its record to 17-11 on the season. The Tornadoes travel to Mandeville (Mandeville, LA) to play the Skippers in a 5A District 6 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Skippers go into the bout with a record of 16-12. Mandeville won 45-43 in their recent league bout against St. Paul's (Covington, LA)

Next up, the play the Thomas Jefferson (Gretna, LA) in a 2A District 9 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Jefferson RISE Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The go into the bout with a 17-10 record after their 54-40 non-league loss to St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA).
