Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Princeton Day Panthers (Princeton, NJ), 50-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newark Academy upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Minutemen travel to Golda Och Academy (West Orange, NJ) to play the in a Super Essex - Freedom bout on Tuesday, February 6. The go into the bout with a record of 2-13. Golda Och Academy lost 35-17 in their recent league bout against Cedar Grove (Cedar Grove, NJ)

Next up, the Panthers play the West Windsor-Plainsboro South Pirates (Princeton Junction, NJ) in a Colonial Valley bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Princeton Day will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 7-13 record after their 52-50 non-league loss to South Brunswick (Monmouth Junction, NJ).
