Fans at Monday's league challenge between the North Central Knights (Bassett, NE) and the visiting Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars (Niobrara, NE), saw North Central's basketball squad wallop Niobrara/Verdigre by a count of 56-28.

With the victory, North Central upgrades its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Colome (Colome, SD) to play the Cowboys in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Cowboys come into the challenge with a record of 0-13. Colome lost 83-53 in their recent league challenge against Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD)

Next up, the Cougars play the West Holt Huskies (Atkinson, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Niobrara/Verdigre will attempt to upgrade on its 0-16 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 15-6 record after their 55-49 non-league win over Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] (Clearwater, NE).
