Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA), 54-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Slidell upgrades its record to 22-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Fontainebleau (Mandeville, LA) to play the Bulldogs in a 5A District 6 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 13-12. Fontainebleau lost 82-59 in their recent league bout against Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA)

Next up, the Raiders play the Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA) in a 3A District 7 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Pine will attempt to upgrade on its 16-14 season record. The Cowboys come into the bout with a 8-23 record after their 61-53 league loss to Amite (Amite, LA).
