Academy of the Sacred Heart Cardinals (New Orleans, LA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Haynes Academy (Metairie, LA), 41-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Academy of the Sacred Heart upgrades its record to 12-7 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Ursuline Academy (New Orleans, LA) to play the Lions in a 3A District 9 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 8-9.

Next up, the play the St. Mary's Dominican (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 8. Haynes Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 15-8 season record. The go into the bout with a 13-16 record after their 53-13 non-league win over St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA).
