Scituate Spartans (North Scituate, RI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI), 39-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Scituate upgrades its record to 5-11 on the season. The Spartans host South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI) to play the Rebels in a Division 1 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 9-8. South Kingstown lost 48-45 in their recent league bout against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI)

Next up, the Townies play the North Kingstown Skippers (North Kingstown, RI) in a Division 1 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. East Providence will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Skippers go into the bout with a 14-4 record after their 48-45 league loss to Barrington (Barrington, RI).
