In Monday's league outing, the Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) basketball squad beat the host North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL), by a count of 54-45.
The Miners (23-7) will now prepare for their outing against Pana (Pana, IL). The Panthers go into the South Central outing with a 5-25 record. In their last outing, Pana was topped by Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL), 54-26, in a league outing.
The Panthers now hold a 17-12 record. They play next when they host Staunton for a South Central outing on Thursday, February 8. North Mac will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 47-26 league win over Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 24-5.
