The Hiawatha Hawks basketball team (Kirkland, IL), was overwhelmed 69-19 in Monday's league battle with the host Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL)
The Norsemen now possess a 11-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Putnam County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 6. Newark will confront a Panthers team coming off a 48-29 league loss to St. Bede (Peru, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 19-10.
The Hawks (8-22) will now prepare for their battle against Christian Life (Rockford, IL). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 20-8 record. In their last battle, Christian Life trounced Faith Christian (Dixon, IL), 52-22, in a non-league battle.
