Port Barre Red Devils (Port Barre, LA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ville Platte Bulldogs (Ville Platte, LA), 59-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Port Barre upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Red Devils travel to Beau Chene (Arnaudville, LA) to play the Gators in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Gators go into the bout with a record of 5-16. Beau Chene won 37-33 in their recent league bout against Cecilia (Cecilia, LA)

Next up, the Bulldogs face the Church Point Bears (Church Point, LA) in a 3A District 4 game, on Thursday, February 8. Ville Platte will attempt to move on its 9-15 season record. The Bears enter the game with a 23-6 record after their 59-27 league win over Northwest (Opelousas, LA).
