Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Collegiate (Baton Rouge, LA), 63-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Catholic of Pointe Coupee upgrades its record to 3-14 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to False River (New Roads, LA) to play the Gators in a 1A District 6 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Gators come into the bout with a record of 3-21. False River lost 94-56 in their recent league bout against Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA)

Next up, the play the Broadmoor Buccaneers (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Collegiate will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a 13-12 record after their 56-47 non-league win over Parkview Baptist (Baton Rouge, LA).
