Monson Mustangs (Monson, MA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Hampden Charter School of Science West Lions (West Springfield, MA), 70-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Monson upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Mustangs host Ware (Ware, MA) to play the Indians in a Bi-County - West bout on Friday, February 10. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 6-9. Ware lost 62-41 in their recent league bout against Springfield Renaissance (Springfield, MA)

Next up, the Lions play the Concord-Carlisle Patriots (Concord, MA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 8. Hampden Charter School of Science West will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 60-57 non-league loss to Cambridge Rindge & Latin (Cambridge, MA).
