The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds basketball team scored 59 points and restricted the visiting Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons to 47 in the Thunderbirds non-league victory on Monday.
The Thunderbirds now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart for a A Section 2 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 67-58 league loss to Mayer Lutheran (Mayer, MN). The Mustangs record now stands at 18-1.
The Falcons (5-13) will now prepare for their contest against Royalton (Royalton, MN). The Royals come into the non-league contest with a 9-8 record. In their last contest, Royalton prevailed over Rush City (Rush City, MN), 57-37, in a league contest.
