The Westwood Patriots basketball team (Ishpeming, MI), was overwhelmed 73-51 in Monday's league battle with the host Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI)
The Copper Kings now possess a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Negaunee for a Mid-Peninsula battle on Tuesday, February 7. Calumet will confront a Miners team coming off a 44-38 non-league win over Gladstone (Gladstone, MI). The Miners record now stands at 14-4.
The Patriots (2-12) will now prepare for their battle against Iron Mountain (Iron Mountain, MI). The Mountaineers come into the Mid-Peninsula battle with a 2-12 record. In their last battle, Iron Mountain trounced Manistique (Manistique, MI), 64-40, in a non-league battle.
