The Champaign Central Maroons basketball team (Champaign, IL), was nudged 57-53 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL)
The Senators now possess a 16-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jacksonville for a Central State Eight battle on Tuesday, February 7. Springfield will confront a Crimsons team coming off a 48-33 league loss to Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL). The Crimsons record now stands at 8-22.
The Maroons (13-16) will now prepare for their battle against Bloomington (Bloomington, IL). The Purple Raiders come into the non-league battle with a 5-21 record. In their last battle, Bloomington was nudged by Peoria (Peoria, IL), 71-19, in a league battle.
