Voorheesville Blackbirds (Voorheesville, NY) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Rensselaer Rams (Rensselaer, NY), 75-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Voorheesville upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Blackbirds host Schalmont (Schenectady, NY) to play the Sabres in a Section 2 Colonial bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Sabres come into the bout with a record of 10-7. Schalmont won 49-38 in their recent league bout against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY)

Next up, the Rams play the Maple Hill Wildcats (Castleton on Hudson, NY) in a Section 2 Patroon bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Rensselaer will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 42-35 league loss to Watervliet (Watervliet, NY).
