The South Carroll Cavaliers (Sykesville, MD) basketball nipped the host Catoctin Cougars (Thurmont, MD), 45-39 in Monday's league test.
The Cavaliers (18-2) will now prepare for their test against Century (Sykesville, MD). The Knights go into the test with a 9-7 record. In their last test, Century got by C. Milton Wright (Bel Air, MD), 47-13, in a non-league test.
The Cougars now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Governor Thomas Johnson for a test on Friday, February 10. Catoctin will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 32-23 league win over Frederick (Frederick, MD). The Patriots record now stands at 4-10.
