Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Barry Western Wildcats (Barry, IL), 59-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Brown County upgrades its record to 5-19 on the season. The Hornets host North Greene (White Hall, IL) to clash with the Spartans in a Western Illinois Valley bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 6-17. North Greene lost 47-39 in their recent league bout against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Pittsfield Saukees (Pittsfield, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. Barry Western will attempt to upgrade on its 5-20 season record. The Saukees go into the bout with a 18-8 record after their 62-40 non-league win over Beardstown (Beardstown, IL).
