East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mt. Olive Wildcats (Mt. Olive, IL), 69-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Alton-Wood River upgrades its record to 4-24 on the season. The Oilers travel to Salem (Salem, IL) to play the Wildcats in a Cahokia - Mississippi bout on Friday, February 9. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 9-20. Salem lost 67-26 in their recent non-league bout against Centralia (Centralia, IL)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Lutheran Crusaders (Springfield, IL) in a MSM bout, on Friday, February 9. Mt. Olive will attempt to upgrade on its 3-21 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 11-15 record after their 62-54 non-league win over Hartsburg-Emden (Hartsburg, IL).
