McPherson Bullpups (McPherson, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hays Indians (Hays, KS), 56-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McPherson upgrades its record to 16-0 on the season. The Bullpups travel to Winfield (Winfield, KS) to play the Vikings in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail III bout on Friday, February 9. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 2-12. Winfield lost 58-51 in their recent non-league bout against El Dorado (El Dorado, KS)

Next up, the Indians play the Liberal Redskins (Liberal, KS) in a Western bout, on Friday, February 9. Hays will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Redskins go into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 60-47 league loss to Garden City (Garden City, KS).
