Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Steward Spartans (Richmond, VA) and the visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints (Suffolk, VA), saw Steward's basketball squad overcome Nansemond-Suffolk Academy by a tally of 59-50.

With the victory, Steward improves its record to 13-9 on the campaign. The Spartans host Peninsula Catholic (Newport News, VA) to confront the Knights in a Tidewater Independent challenge on Thursday, February 8. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 19-8. Peninsula Catholic won 93-44 in their recent league challenge against Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Saints confront the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs (Norfolk, VA) in a Tidewater Independent challenge, on Friday, February 9. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will attempt to improve on its 11-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 51-15 league win over Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg, VA).
