Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants (Kalamazoo, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Portage Northern Huskies (Portage, MI), 59-25 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Kalamazoo Central upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Maroon Giants travel to Gull Lake (Richland, MI) to confront the Blue Devils in a Southwestern Michigan - East challenge on Thursday, February 8. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 9-5. Gull Lake won 54-39 in their recent league challenge against Lakeshore (Stevensville, MI)

Next up, the Huskies confront the Lakeshore Lancers (Stevensville, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan - West challenge, on Friday, February 9. Portage Northern will attempt to improve on its 0-15 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 54-39 league loss to Gull Lake (Richland, MI).
