Louisiana High School Basketball - Southside trounces Lafayette

The Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) basketball crushed the visiting Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA), 70-45 in Tuesday's league test.
The Sharks (11-7) will now prepare for their test against New Iberia (New Iberia, LA). The Yellowjackets go into the 5A District 3 test with a 25-1 record. In their last test, New Iberia walloped Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA), 48-37, in a league test.
The Lions now own a 10-10 record. They play next when they travel to Carencro for a 5A District 3 test on Friday, February 10. Lafayette will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 43-20 league win over Acadiana (Lafayette, LA). The Bears record now stands at 10-10.
