Port Allen Pelicans (Port Allen, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Capitol Lions (Baton Rouge, LA), 43-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Port Allen upgrades its record to 11-11 on the campaign. The Pelicans host Glen Oaks (Baton Rouge, LA) to play the Panthers in a 3A District 6 bout on Friday, February 10. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 17-9. Glen Oaks won 66-62 in their recent league bout against Parkview Baptist (Baton Rouge, LA)

Next up, the Lions play the Plaquemine Green Devils (Plaquemine, LA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 8. Capitol will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Green Devils come into the bout with a 22-9 record after their 59-15 league win over Belaire (Baton Rouge, LA).
