Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 59-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Hickory upgrades its record to 4-15 on the season. The Hawks travel to Cox (Virginia Beach, VA) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 8. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 0-19. Cox lost 32-31 in their recent league bout against Tallwood (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern bout, on Friday, February 10. Lakeland will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 15-5 record after their 47-38 league win over Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA).
