Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Destrehan Wildcats (Destrehan, LA) and the host Salmen Spartans (Slidell, LA), saw Destrehan's basketball squad hold off Salmen by a tally of 45-40.

With the victory, Destrehan improves its record to 17-8 on the campaign.

Next up, the Spartans confront the Franklinton Demons (Franklinton, LA) in a 4A District 8 challenge, on Thursday, February 8. Salmen will attempt to improve on its 15-16 season record. The Demons come into the challenge with a 7-14 record after their 56-23 league loss to Pearl River (Pearl River, LA).
