North Carolina High School Basketball - Mount Pleasant can't hold off Piedmont

February 7, 2024: Monroe, NC 28110

The Piedmont Panthers basketball team scored 46 points and held the visiting Mount Pleasant Tigers to 42 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Panthers now sport a 13-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Parkwood for a 2A/3A Rocky River contest on Tuesday, February 13. Piedmont will battle a Wolf Pack team coming off a 53-44 league loss to Monroe (Monroe, NC). The Wolf Pack record now stands at 10-11.

The Tigers (10-11) will now prepare for their contest against North Stanly (New London, NC). The Comets enter the 1A/2A Yadkin Valley contest with a 16-3 record. In their last contest, North Stanly nudged South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 61-19, in a league contest.
